Award Administration
Your Grant is Due to Expire Within 30-Days
Your grant or contract is due to expire within the next 30-days. It is now time for you to review the progress of your project and either:

Complete the project by the Expiration Date, or
-
Obtain a No Cost Extension in order to complete the project

If you anticipate the need for additional time beyond the current Expiration Date to complete the project and your award is a federal FDP or Expanded Authority grant, DSR can approve a one time no-cost extension of up to 12 months. To request this extension please follow the DSR No Cost Extension instructions.
For other grants and contracts agency approval is likely. If you are not sure of the correct procedure to obtain an agency approved extension please contact your Department's Grant Administrator or a specialist in the respective Sponsored Research office as follows:

If you are planning for this award to be completed by the Expiration Date, please ensure that no costs are incurred beyond the expiration date nor in excess of the total amount awarded. Required Final Reports will need to be prepared and delivered in accordance with grant or contract requirements.
Each type of award, whether Federal or Non Federal, fixed price or cost reimbursement, has specific closeout requirements. As the award approaches expiration or does expire you will receive notices reminding you of what reports are due. Of particular importance are notices from your respective Contracts and Grants Accounting Office who may need to prepare final invoices, public vouchers and many other important fiscal reports.
